EAST SIDE LIKE I KNEW IT TO BE

This series is special to me. The series represents what East Austin looked like and felt like for me when I was a young child. I want to keep this short and sweet. Come, Look, and See how I knew EAST SIDE TO BE!

Although, I am from South Austin, I spent a lot of time as a kid in East Austin. So many memories hanging on 11th street. I wanted to take photos of kids just being, just playing, just smiling, just living...on the east side.

I had the honor to photograph the Hunter family. They live near East MLK. I remember driving by their home in the spring of 2017. Kids were outside running around, laughing and playing. It was so beautiful. They looked just like me. It reminded me of the 90s when I was young.
